A 35,000-square-foot concrete-paved plaza above an underground parking garage was transformed into an intensive green roof for this 1980s-era office park near O’Hare International Airport. The design incorporates precast planters and benches designed by Edward Windhorst for Wausau Tile, Inc. Custom precast curbing and two types of precast concrete pavers frame plantings specified by landscape architect Daniel Weinbach and Partners, Ltd. of Chicago.
