For this comprehensive restoration and interior reconstruction of a nineteenth century house on Oak Park’s Kenilworth Avenue, the 1920s Tudor exterior—itself a renovation—was retained, but a gut renovation generated all-new interiors. Work within the 5,400-square-foot house included removal of an interior stair, radical expansion of the kitchen, enclosure of a second-floor rear porch, reconstruction of five bathrooms, refurbished flooring and new ceilings and lighting, custom millwork and coordination of all furnishings. A new, freestanding three-car garage was also part of the scope.
