Over five decades at Illinois Institute of Technology Professors Myron Goldsmith and David C. Sharpe conducted groundbreaking research in the design of tall buildings and long-span structures. The work of Goldsmith and Sharpe constitutes a unique, continuous development that has had wide influence in the profession, most dramatically in realized structures directly traceable to IIT thesis projects. This book, commissioned by the College of Architecture and published by IIT, documents this research in a selection of outstanding graduate-level projects completed between 1962 and 2009.
